Easily recognize Seoul bus routes by number

Foreigners new to the Seoul area are often overwhelmed by the variety of bus colors, but once you know the color and numbering system, you'll have no trouble getting around without knowing Korean. Today, we're going to provide some basic information about the Korean bus system for foreigners visiting Korea.

 

Buses in Seoul have four main colors. They are red, blue, green, and yellow. Red buses are long-distance buses, mostly coming from outside of Seoul (Gyeonggi Province), and blue buses are for medium-distance routes within Seoul. Green is a bus that runs between two or three areas in Seoul, and yellow is a bus that runs between one specific area (Namsan, for example).
